About Darci

Unlike many who are involved in CrossFit, I wouldn’t have considered myself an athlete when I was young. I was a cheerleader throughout high school, which suited me well as it required a degree of athleticism without the need for great hand-eye coordination. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed things like running, working out, and eventually CrossFit, until about 10 years ago. CrossFit, with its measurable improvements and competitive nature, appealed to me and motivated me in a way that no other sport had. I was introduced to CrossFit by my husband, Josh. He and his brother had been doing CrossFit for about a year when they built a CrossFit gym in my mother-in-law’s garage. I had been running, kickboxing, and doing boot camp style workouts when they convinced my crew of “workout girls” to give CrossFit a try… and we were hooked. That was over 5 years ago, and we are all still pushing through CrossFit workouts together today! As a mother of three, I love that CrossFit is an activity that we enjoy together as a family, showing our children that caring for our bodies is a way to honor the Creator that made them. CrossFit has increased the health and confidence of each one of us and given us a community that supports and encourages us, both within the walls of the gym and in the greater aspects of life.

Passion & Motivation

When the last of my three kids started school full-time, I began looking for ways that I could “work” while doing what I love. Some of the things that I missed most from my years as a nurse were building relationships with families and educating those families in order to improve the way they lived. Being a CrossFit and nutrition coach has allowed me to do those same things in a new and different way. From the youngest kids to the oldest adults, helping people improve their health, see their own potential, and find confidence in their progress is what motivates and excites me.
